About Zoe Tranter & Street & Company Solicitors

What is our ethos?

Law firms today have a culture of maximising their hourly rate in order to ensure that they meet the costs of excessive overheads - offices, support staff and junior solicitors. These costs are then passed on to you as their client.

Our aim is to be your in-house legal team for however long you may need us, on your terms. We are there to provide you with a thorough, cost effective and efficient service, and we never lose sight of that. We will travel to your premises in order to discuss your requirements. We think that it is really important that we work with you in understanding your business in order to provide you with the best service possible.

Why have we structured the business in this way?

The legal profession has now undergone a radical change. Some have likened it to the "big bang" that affected the financial services industry. Halifax, Tesco, the Co-operative..they are all about to enter the legal services market. The profession has two choices - sink or swim. We would not dream of competing with these huge well established brands. We are commercial specialists, often advising on complex areas of law, we want to offer this specialised service at a competitive rate and can do so on the basis of our business model. You will also deal with a director and owner of the company from the commencement of your transaction to the conclusion of it as we believe this is the standard of service that you deserve from a qualified solicitor.

“What is the argument on the other side? Only this, that no case has been found in which it has been done before. That argument does not appeal to me in the least. If we never do anything which has not been done before, we shall never get anywhere. The law will stand still while the rest of the world goes on, and that will be bad for both.” Lord Denning.
